Hey guys!
Finally, we have the time to talk to you. We have been so busy since returning home to Singapore, which explains why we only able to update you now.
The journey back was more adventurous than what we bargained for. Due to a terrible thunderstorm, we missed our transit flight and ended up staying in China for another two days. At first we were grumpy because of missing the flight home but it did not turn out to be so bad in the end. At Guangzhou, we were put up at a wonderful hotel and spent some time touring the outskirts.
With our journey to China ending safe and sound in Singapore. We will definitely miss Guangzhou and hope for an opportunity to visit China again.
On April 30th, we will be showcasing our trip to Chengdu and we would appreciate your support by coming down. See you there!

The Panda Returns
Friday, 29 March 201318:19
Along the outskirts of Chengdu lays the magical kingdom where my (Panda) family lives. I am excited to see them after such a long time!
The team travelled 25km out of Chengdu City just to see my
family. At the main entrance we were greeted by a monument made out to one of
my ancestors.
|
The research base is a safe haven for Pandas because most of
the natural habitats for Pandas have
been destroyed. (Male Panda eating
bamboo.)
|
Do not be fooled by the outward appearance of these cute
Red Pandas. They are known to possess a fiery temper, and often fight with each
other for food.
|
Look at them fighting! |
After spending the whole morning on the 100 hectare home of the Pandas and
visiting 9 different enclosures, it was finally time to say goodbye.

Chengdu’s effort to boost its creative industry
16:42
We were very excited to visit Hongxing 35 Advertising Creative
Industrial Park. It is a division under
the government dedicated to nurture and develop the advertising and creative
industries in Chengdu. Hongxing 35 acts
as an incubator, comprising of many startups with the potential to grow into a
great company. We visited two such companies. Burn was one of them; Burn is an
advertising agency that boasts an impressive client list like Nokia.
Their projects were fascinating. In particular, we were
intrigued to find out that the company was the first to make use of 3D to
showcase their client’s products.
An
innovative 3D projection of Nokia’s latest phone, N9, on a building in China. A
truly fascinating scene to behold.
|
Another interesting thing we found at the agency was
their showroom within the premises. They have a showroom exhibiting their
finest creations. The showroom displayed
pottery and wood products designed by the various companies that occupied the
Advertising Park. We would not have believed it, if we did not see it.
At the
museum: Handmade pottery tea set on sale. I wish I could have gotten this for
papa and mama panda but it was so out of my budget.
|
It was an interesting learning experience for us as we
have never seen such a big space dedicated to advertising and design agencies.
The creators in China must have felt the importance of
media and advertising, to have spent so much money and effort in setting up
such a specialized place.
